Caller ID is faster with EF

First call after EF and it came up before the phone ran! It was only a split seccond, but still. Before EF, it would take 2 rings before the caller ID came up. I hope this isn't a fluke and is a permanent feature of EF. Please, please, please :D

Mine has never logged a call, same, must subscribe notice!
I have called ID but the caller id on the HR20 has never worked.

Mine too!! I know it's a minor problem compared to somethat others are having but I really liked this featurte on the R15 and the Dish network equipment that I still feel the machine is having problems?? Why is it that some it works for and some it does not??

My Caller ID is way faster now as well!
Yeah! That's a good sign that it wasn't just an isolated incident.

And mine pretty much works 95% of the time in the month I've had it. Every once in a blue moon, the subscribe message will pop up, but mostly it's the correct caller id info.
Sorry to tell you but this is not a feature of EF. Caller ID is sent between the first and second ring. Have you ever noticed that if you answer before the 2nd ring you don't get Caller ID.:nono2:
What I mean is that my HR20 Caller ID now comes up at the same time the Caller ID shows in the phones. Before the HR20 was at least another second or two later.

Right. Although the next two times someone's called, it took until after the 1st ring. It always was after the 2nd ring before.
It doesn't sound like a big deal to me.
1st ring, 2nd ring, whatever.
OK, I know I will probably be flamed for this, but I have not had any issues with my caller ID on the HR20. I've had tuner issues, recording issues, etc. but I haven't experienced anything with the caller ID.
My caller ID works fine.. I let the answering machine get it
My caller ID has never worked.

Still 2 rings here... then RUN... for me :D
My caller ID has also never worked.
Anyone know why?
(I also agree though a minor problem in the priority list)
My caller id has captured two calls out fo 50 that my phones got, I reported it to dtv and was told it was the first they have heard... so maybe you all should be reporting this so they fix it as they thought it was just my box... I did too till I read this... :nono2: :)

This is BS...DTV knows about the problem/missing functionality. They just haven't fixed it. Much like OTA, Recording on time/reliable recordings, Dual Buffers, BSOD, hitting reset every 5th day.

(Start Sarcasm)

But hey, at least they fixed the slip. WAY TO GO! Priorities...everyone has them.

(End Sarcasm)

what about the dual buffers, I was told that would never happen, until if ever another box.. it's a hardrware issue...:nono2:
Initially, mine did not work. Then it started working. After the 0xEF update, it does not work. I tried a reset, then a power cycle, so we'll see if that works... (to late to be calling my house with the cell at this hour, ole lady would get a wee bit pissed..)

Not a big deal at all, but if it rings twice and I then have to go find the cordless phone, the answering machine may get it. As Milo said, now it recognizes it at the same time as the phone does. Before there was definitely a delay.
