Can a HR21 work with a 1LNB dish?
I have a 1LNB dish on my motorhome and was wondering if the HR21 works with just 1LNB. At home, I tried unhooking one of the lines going into the HR21 that has the 5LNB dish but the receiver didn’t work because it was looking for a signal for the 2nd tuner. Has anybody had any luck getting the HR21 to work with a 1LNB dish? Thanks!

I tried a reboot at home after unplugging the line to the 2nd tuner and still got the "no signal from 2nd turner error". Now I don't know if the HR21 is smart enough to know it's hooked up to a 5lnb and it needs the 2nd tuner to work. I have not tried hooking the HR21 up to the 1lnb dish yet so I don't know if the reboot will ignore the 2nd tuner requirement... but I'm hoping.Mertzen said:it should work but you'd have to reboot the box so it will disable the second tuner. If you are running the most recent firmware you should be able to go into the setup and select a single tuner now.
I think the HR21 is running the latest... I'm new to *D but I did notice a change last week when recording a show a message box pops up about additional information for recording and that was new. I will check that when I get home tonight. There are two ports on the 18" dish........2 lines to two tuners. But no HD. Unless there are other considerations (anyone..Tom?) you should get all that is on the 101 sat.

If you run the SAT setup and change it to a single LNB dish it will work fine with a single LNB dish. It will act as a SD DVR.
You will just need to rerun the SAT and select 5 LNB dish to be able to receive the HD channels.
