What do you see on the Test Channels .... Ch 490, 491, 492, 493, and 494?

Can get locals in HD but no others.
I am new to this forum and to Directv (used to be with them before HD was around)
So my installer says I have a defective box, Directv says they cant get me one or till Nov. 20, so I thought I would check some forums like this for possible help. The initial tech/installer came out twice replaced all the equipment (except the HR20) and relocated the satellite to no avail. I can get HD on all the local channels, but nothing comes up on the 70's channels....Searching for Signal in Satellite 2 ..771 is the msg. I get.
I have already been sent to retention and they have offered me several discounts to stick with them,
can anyone offer me any help? It would be much appreciated!

As per other threads i have read on here, i have switched the cables to the reciever, which did not work, as well as remove the BBC connectors, which did not solve the problem as well.
D* mailed me a hr10 to set me up temporarily till i my next service call... i have not tried to hook it up yet.....
any others ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated!

So even if you swap the satellite cables the message still says "Searching on Sat2"? Sure sounds like a defective DVR then. Not much else you can do except wait for replacement. i have never been able to receive a signal from 110 or 119, and get a perfect signal on 101.....the dish is in a perfect location, and the installer replaced all other equipment other than the box....litzdog911 said:So even if you swap the satellite cables the message still says "Searching on Sat2"? so if i go buy a box from best buy will D* credit me the $ so i dont have to wait for them?
