Hi. I would like to setup for 1 HD receiver (H25-700). In that case, I can just connect directly to a slimline dish. Do I need a DIRECTV SWM-PI 29V power inserter?

It sounds like a power inserter is required if i use a SWM switch or multiswitch. Since, I only have i receiver, I don't need to use the switch. Is this correct?

Thank you.

The switch is built into the LNB. If the LNB has 4 coax outputs, it wont work on an H25 anyway. If it has 1 output, it will, but you have to use the power inserter.

These setups work with the H25

Non-SWM LNB -> SWM8/16 -> Power Inserter -> receiver
SWM LNB -> Power Inserter -> Receiver

This will not work:
Non-SWM LNB -> Receiver

Davenlr: Thank you for the reply. If i go with the Slimline 3 or 5, which I think they have the swm lnb already. Then what voltage of power inserter do I need? I've seen 21v and 29v, i think. Thanks.
To power a slimline with the SWM inside, you need a 21 volt PI.

Regarding "Davnir" answer in this section of:
SWN LNB-> Power Inserter -> Receiver:

The SWN LNB to Power Inserter to splitter(s) results in a limit to the number of receivers supported. Right?

In other words, several DVR's, HD receivers, etc. would require the Non_SWM LNB-> SWM 8/16-> Power Inserter -> Receiver(s)?

I checked my equipment and found out that I have the 4 coax outputs slimline 5 dish. So I will need the SWM8 and power inserter for my H25-700 then. Right?

Unless you want to change the LNB to a SWiM type, yes. Be advised though the SWiM-8 (and SWiM-16 as well) module require a 29v PI.
