Can I swap rooms with my two receivers?

I currently have a VIP-722 in the family room, and a newly-installed VIP-612 in the living room. The main watching now will be in the living room, so I wanted to know if I can swap the two receivers?

Besides the larger hard drive in the 722, it has also been rock steady since it was installed, and the 612 has developed some minor quirks (periodically freezing, dropping portions of recordings, etc.) so we would like the "better" DVR in the room that gets the most use.

The wiring in the family room currently has two cables coming in from the wall directly in to the back of the 722. (Believe this was left over from the original D* DirecTivo installation that my 722 replaced.) The new cabling in the living room has only one wall penetration, and the cable is split right before the receiver connection.

There shouldn't be any problem swapping the two as long as the ViP722 is only driving one TV.

You may find out that the problems don't follow the ViP612. Be vigilant for a while to make sure that the problem isn't elsewhere.
The 722 normally drives 2 TVs. Assuming that's the case, you'll lose the TV2 feed by moving the 722 to where the 612 is and vice versa. Unless you're handy with cable and understand diplexing, you'd probably need a service call to move things around and get everything connected properly.
That's what I was wondering about. I have a generally good understanding of technology, but no experience with cables or diplexing. Guess I'll leave things be for now. Thanks for the tip.
