I don't care for the two tuner or DVR recording features while I'm camping. I just need to be able to hook it up temporarily to a non SWM LNB Slimline dish. Is this possible or does this receiver require a SWM LNB?

Yes it can -you will need to a BBC to receive HD channels even on one tuner --You will need to re-run SAT setup at your camp site

If I remember correctly there are two inputs for the satellite on the DVR, does it matter which one I connect to when using a non-SWM LNB?

Yes, connect it to the ‘Sat 1’ input.
