Can you change HR34 to 4 tuners ???

I have a guy has an HR34 and 3 HD's. He wantys to swap an HD for an HDDVR making 9 tuners. he doesant want 3 more wires outside. Can you change the HR34 to 4 tuners ??

The short answer is no.

The HR 34 will soak as many SWM channels as it can on bootup. This causes issues later if things are rebooted and you attempt to use this to get around the tuner limit.
