Can your area belong to 2 RSN's?

Just read this article in the Oklahoman (http://newsok.com/fs-oklahoma-to-air-thunder-games/article/3304544/?tm=1222702260):

Fox Sports Net will televise 60 to 65 Oklahoma Thunder games this season on a revamped network, FS Oklahoma, as part of a new multiyear television contract, network spokesman Ramon Alvarez said this morning. The NBA team was expected to make the announcement this morning.

The remaining Thunder games apparently will be televised by an Oklahoma City over-the-air station.

FS Oklahoma will launch with the first Thunder telecast in October and will be available statewide as a replacement for FSN Southwest, Alvarez said. The date of the launch has not been set.
We currently get FSN Southwest as our RSN. Will we get FSN Oklahoma in addition to FSN Southwest? The reason I ask is the article says that if you live outside of the 75 mile radius surrounding OKC (which I do), you will also get the Mavericks games. I would like to have both.

Yes. I think (I thought at least), a lot of people do have more than one. Here in NC we have two (MASN and FSN South) and my parents in CT have 4 (SNY, YES, NESN and CSN New England).
It could also be that you might get FSN-Oklahoma as a "game-only" RSN.

An example of this is FSN-Kansas City. FSN-KC shows pretty much the same thing as FSN-Midwest. So people in the FSN-KC area get FSN-Midwest full-time, and FSN-KC is only turned on when there is a local game on such as the Royals.

They might set Oklahoma up so that FSN-Southwest is still the full-time RSN, with FSN-Oklahoma turned on only for Thunder games.

Not saying this is how it will happen, but it's a possibility.

Didn't think of that possibility. The article even mentions that local programming will be limited at the beginning.
We get 2 RSN's with DirecTV.
FSN South and FSN Cincinnati.
I read up on th article. It looks like I should get both the OKC games and the Mavericks as I am in the Northeast corner of the state and well more then 75 miles from OKC. I called the VP of Customer Service office and besically they know nothing about the FSN Oklahoma channel as of yet. They dont know if they will have it or if they dont he does not know about blackouts yet either. I then emailed FSN and am waiting to hear back from them. I am not to worried as the artical seemed like I should be good to go but am very anxious to see what comes of this. We should knonw it less then one month for sure what will happen as the first OKC game is before the end of Oct.
Plug your zip code into page http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=P3000004 and it tells you what the D* computer will allow you to get.

That page is not updated yet with the new FSN Oklahoma channel so its really not accurate for the upcoming NBA season.
My area has five RSNs, YES, SNY, MSG, MSG Plus and STO.

Today is the first day they announced the formation of FSN Oklahoma. That's why I was asking for other people's experiences about the RSN's.

I am thinking along the lines of JonSamuels that FSN OK will be a game only RSN in the beginning. It doesn't look like there will be a lot of programming at first.

I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that this is how FSN Houston works. When something is going on in Houston sports, they show Houston, otherwise it is just FSN Southwest.
JonSamuels is probably right. This sounds like a "subset" RSN, where really its just a nearby major market (baseball) RSN with basketball inserted.

An area can "belong" to multiple RSNs. I think the record is parts of Iowa with six. I have four.

Doesn't really matter too much what others experiences are since as I said it's up to D*'s computer and all the rules that they follow determines if you get it or not.

Four would be nice. I have two currently. Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Midwest I believe. The 2nd one is only if I keep the Sports Pack and it only lists Cardinals games. I am not a Cards fan so it does not really do me much good.
If you look at the HD LiL charts, you'll see what RSNs are in each HD market.

I think one of the reasons he was asking is that he wanted to know if he would be able to keep the Fox Sports Southwest and get the new FSN Oklahoma when it hits the air waves. None of the charts or D* seem to have any information on this as of yet. They better get cracken as it needs to be ironed out within the next 3 weeks before the start of the NBA season.

One of the perks to living in Iowa  My primary RSN on D* is Comcast Chicago. With the Sportspack, all programming, including pro games, are in the clear on FSN North, FSN Midwest, and during baseball season, Brewer games on FSN Wisconsin.
