I told them I was going to DISH Hopper/Joey. They offered whole home DVR, Free HD(I think) and taking $25 or so off my bill, no DVR fees. I told them I was done. They said my service would be cut off at midnight. It is still going. How many calls is it going to take to cancel?
And be sure you go to your local store and buy all the Kleenex they have in stock because you will need it.trh said:Go online and check your account. If it says cancelled, enjoy the free service until you get Dish. But I suspect if your service has been cancelled, your free service with DirecTV will be limited.

Everybody seems to get these very attractive offers after they have cancelled their account and in all probability signed up with another provider with possibly some sort of service requirement meaning they couldn't (financially) come back even if they wanted to. Maybe the answer is to cancel your account and go without programming service except for OTA until the attractive "come back" offer arrives.ATARI said:Three weeks to the day that I cancelled DirecTV, I got a letter in the mail asking me to come back. FREE HD-DVR, FREE HBO/CineMax/ShowTime for 3 months, and $29.99 for Choice for the first year.
You really did this for the Hopper? Limited to primetime major network programming and is likely on a very short leash."dstout" said:I had an R15 and old SD DirecTivo. I have already unhooked them. Got DISh this morning.
But if your primary interest is network primetime, it's not that bad. Others have gotten two hoppers to make up for the rest. Try doing that with HR34sdesulliv said:You really did this for the Hopper? Limited to primetime major network programming and is likely on a very short leash.
I thought you couldn't have two hoppers. I read recently here about someone that got a second one and it was shut off a couple of days after activation.dpeters11 said:But if your primary interest is network primetime, it's not that bad. Correct but with DIRECTV you can have HD DVR's as well as the HR34 which you cannot do with DISH Hopper and ViP series receivers.dpeters11 said:Everything I've seen, you are supposed to be able to have two. DirecTV only allows one 34.
Of course that is a valid point."Shades228" said:Correct but with DIRECTV you can have HD DVR's as well as the HR34 which you cannot do with DISH Hopper and ViP series receivers.
