Overloading one of the swm ports would throw a 771B error.

The 771Ais a signal power issue. Either the swm module is not getting power, because of a bad cable or PI, or the swm itself is defective, or there is some details to come that will trigger the "ah ha" moment. Which ever it is, the receivers are not detecting the presence of the swm.

"occasionally" a SWiM tuner in a IRD can also be faulty. It's much more rare than the reasons Robert listed (which are more likely) but it happens.

I swapped locations with the HR20 (master bedroom) and HR22 (guest room) and the HR22 worked fine while the HR20 actually picked up a signal and booted up with channels going, but it wasn't stable.

Yeah. It has to be a hardware issue here. I've tried EVERYTHING. Now it's time to record all my precious programs that were set to "keep" on that DVR onto DVD and swap her out for hopefully another HR24.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I really do appreciate it!

I have an HR21 Pro that is like that, the SWM just will not work.

If you have the cabling for it, you could just run your problem receiver from two of the legacy outputs of the SWM16. You would need two BBCs.

The only hitch is that MRV does not work on the legacy outputs. You'd have to use an Ethernet wire to that one box.
