No. 1. I was getting (free) the Epix channels, and they sent a message (on screen) to go to my account on the internet and make a change if I wanted to keep viewing the Epix channels. I made a check in the "no" column. The Epix channels were to be discontinued on Jan. 5th ????. I still get them. Also, I got a message that the Starz 30th Aniv. channels were to go bye-bye on Jan. 15th. I still get them.

No. 2. Now here in the thread title. "Can't Guess What Dish Is Doing." My last statement/invoice was for $106.30. For America's Top 250 at $69.99, HD 250 at $10.00, $7.00 ea for HD 211K, and HD211 receivers (which I still have connected, plus $6.00 for DVR service for the PVR 508 receiver. Plus the state tax..

I just logged on my Dish account and see the following. $69.99 for the America's Top 250, $10.00 for the HD 250, $7.00 for HD receiver (just one, not two), and $.00 for the Starz 30th Aniv. Total: $86.99 (without state tax)
NOTE: I had Dish to de-activate the PVR508 last week).

Does Dish "kill" one HD receiver when I removed the PVR 508 receiver?

My first response is why are you paying $10 for HD when it's free?

It does sound like there is something wrong with the billing based on what you see online and your actual bill.
Also, Starz is due to be ended February. Are you sure you saw January? I don't know about the Epix channels.

Dropping the 508 should not affect other receivers on the account. I would have a CSR here take a look at it.

When I called Dish to de-activate the 508, the CSR told me my next invoice would be $93.99 plus the tax ($106.30). That was understandable as the last invoice was $99.99 plus the tax, and removing the $6.00 DVR service fee making my next bill to read $93.99 plus the tax. My account shows my next bill is $86.99 plus the tax and one less HD receiver ($7.00) fee.

You are not charged for the first receiver on the account. You were not being charged for hte 508, when you removed that, one of the 211's took it's place as the main receiver so less one $7 receiver fee and the $6 dvr fee to total $13.

DISH includes the most expensive receiver free ... as the 508 would have been your most expensive receiver ($10 per month for a Solo DVR) it was your free receiver. When you dropped it, one of your other receivers became your free receiver (and since the 211s do not count as DVRs, the DVR fee was removed).

Shouldn't the old bill also have shown a credit for the 508's DVR fee?

Providing a monthly credit on your bill for the next 24 months to offset the impact of the new or higher fee(s). As a result of this upgrade to the 501 and 508 DVR receiver fee structure, your net monthly bill total should not change. You will continue to receive the credit for the full 24 months regardless of when your receiver upgrade takes place.​
