I've been a sub since May 2002 and my current package is the Total Choice Plus. I know D* has changed it package names and, to some degree, the contents of the packages.
Well, as part of my free HD upgrades in June, I was given free movie packages for 3 months. The freebies expired yesterday, but the family decided we wanted to keep HBO. So, I logon to my D* account and try to add HBO ($14/month charge). A message popped up that my current packages are obsolete and in order to add HBO, I would need to update my subscription with a current package. I've added/dropped movie packages earlier this year and this never occurred.
Is this a limitation of adding HBO online and I can get it added by calling CS....or is will I be forced to give up my current package?
I'll have to do a little research to see if I really want to change packages just to get HBO. This seems like an unusual way to encourage people to update their obsolete programming packages.
