Tried removing the $5 HD EXTRA PACK and get the message below. What does the $5 HD EXTRA PACK have to do with the new programming packages?

Before you can make any changes to your account you are required to change your package.

Why do I have to change my package? You have an older package that does not support the programming/service you have selected.
Can I switch back if I change my mind? No, since we no longer offer your old (discontinued) package, you cannot switch back once you've changed.

TC+ is gone. You should now have Choice Extra Classic at the new price. You lost one channel CLOO.
I realize that, but earlier today I lost access to virtually all information on my account page...especially information about my receivers and premium channels. That glitch seems to have been fixed.

That happened to me after I called to change from premier. I didn't change as they offered credits to stay. For the next few hours I lost access to my information, but then it was fixed.

My main account page no longer allows access to my hardware listing or anything to do with my program package, the old Total Choice Plus. Bummer.
I had that happen to. I closed out of my DirecTV account and closed the web browser. Then I reopened it all and it was fine. Might have to clear the cookies and cashe.

I had TC+ (now Choice Extra Classic). The account page has a link to print my channel lineup, which only shows my locals plus PBS Sprout! The Change Package page shows that it has 207+ channels, which is probably correct (with TC+, that page was always incorrect).

If you have problems with your information on DirecTV's site just log out, delete cookies etc and log back in. That way (before you log in) you also get to see all the new sub deals which don't show up after you have logged in and set their cookie as an existing subscriber. They probably avoid a lot of phone calls that way. :)

Another change. My bill posted overnight. I own three of my receivers and they have always shown as "additional receiver" and my leased receiver as just that. Now all receivers post as "additional TV" giving me no differentiation between owned and leased. I'd better call the AC team on Monday to confirm their records still have the correct information.

That change was referenced in the new prices thread. Just the description has changed, your leased/owned status for the receivers should be unchanged.

Being the kind of guy that wears suspenders and a belt, I did phone the AC team and the nice lady said her screen showed "Additional TV - Leased" and "Additional TV - Owned" which differs from what shows online where all receivers just show as "Additional TV". Maybe the differentiation will only show on the printed statement.

Sorry to bump an old thread -- but just to be entirely certain:

I want to dump the HD Extra Pack but the site tells me I must switch packages in order to do so. I am on Choice Xtra Classic and don't want to lose channels I watch frequently like the NHL Network.

If I call in, will a CSR be able to cancel the HD Extra pack without having me lose my grandfathered package.

Yes, a CSR can cancel the HD Extra pack without losing your grandfathered package.
