Can't save bill to .pdf form anymore

2608 Views 14 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  dmspen
For those with paperless billing, when I log into my account I can't save my bill in pdf form anymore.

I click the "convert to pdf" button and go to File, Save Page As (I'm using Firefox 12.0) and it saves it as an html file. When I change the file extension to .pdf and then open it with Adobe it says the file is damaged.

Anyone know here how to convert the bill to .pdf form? It used to work for me every month but Dish Network changed something with their website.

I can't even "View" mine let alone save it....I wonder if a Dish Representative could look into this?
Hmmm. Well, the new "view bill" web page is an example of what happens when you have web page design people on staff with nothing important to do. It is a change that was not necessary.

But it did work for me in Firefox 12.0 except for the fact that...

I had to allow popups for my.dish.com and I have things set so when I go to an Acrobat PDF file on line the download box pops up and I choose what I want done - I almost always choose "open in Acrobat" over saving the file.

My May bill opened as it should.

BUT....

The print button function did not work giving me only the first page of the bill with the remaining pages printing blank.

This is why I hate people who redesign a working web page for no apparent reason when customers depend on the page.

Thanks, phrelin.

But I can see the bill no problem when I log on but I just can't save it to my hard drive when I could before.

I tried to disable Adblock Plus for mydish.com but it didn't change anything.

Yeah, sorry, I should have said the save option doesn't work correctly.
Another way to save it is if you can view it on your screen hit the Prt Scr button to the right of the F12 button on the top row of your keyboard, then open paint, click edit then paste then save as a jpg file. I do that to save a lot of online receipts. Make a folder in my docs for receipts and save it there.

I tried Firefox browser and it worked, viewing and saving. Safari does not work at all, just a dead button.
I was able to view and save a copy of my personal statement to my computer using FF in PDF format. Make sure you don't have POP-UPS blocked. You might also try IE to see if it will save for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Alright, I finally figured it out by experimenting with Opera (but just saw it works on Firefox also).

If I go the bottom of the very last page of my bill after I click the "Convert to PDF" button a horizontal menu with symbols flashes on and when I click the floppy disk icon I can save the bill in .pdf form.

Anyways thanks for the help guys. And thanks Ray. :)

Thanks Ray, How about getting someone to look into Safari not working with viewing billing?

No problems viewing or saving my bill in Safari 5.1.7 in Lion.
Fixed it, Safari was blocking popups. I thought I had reset that.....:sure: Sorry for the bother.
First time I've looked at the latest changes. Cumbersome! But I was able to open and save my bill to my desktop in a PDF using Explorer and Windows. (1) I had to authorized popups for the site, which hasn't been necessary before. (2) I have Adobe Reader setup to open PDFs outside the browser. {I had to do that to accomodate Sprint, who stopped updating their software after Explorer 7. When I updated to Explorer 9 I couldn't open my Sprint bills anymore.}

If you are having trouble in FF or other browsers try changing you Adobe Reader settings. It might work.
I'm glad it is working for you now. Thanks.

For any of you with MS Office Pro 2007 and above, you can save pages like that in One Note. You just 'Print' and One Note shows as a printer.
