Friday Nights Showing of Star Wars was in OAR true HD. They even put up a new HD logo. In the past few weeks we have seen HD on CBS Sports, MTV, Nick, and now cartoon network.

That just leaves CMT VH1 and Fuel or is it Fuse?? without any HD programming.

I'm not sure Sunday night's airing was though... looked weird!

They've shown true HD on CNHD for a while now. Clone Wars isn't the first show to be shown in HD.
Out of curiosity, what was the first?

I don't watch the channel outside of Star Wars but from what I've read on the boards this is the 1st true HD broadcast. I understand that they have some Adult Swim programs ready for HD but have not shown them yet.

I know the latest season of the Venture Brothers was in HD. They also aired some episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog and Tom & Jerry in HD. I know there's one, possibly two more shows that air/aired in HD I just forgot their names. They've also shown a movie or two in HD.

OK, so it's not a ton, but it is something.

When watching these shows did the network logo change to the new HD logo? I only ask because I've never seen anything other than Stretched programming.

Just got around to watching the 1st episode of Clone Wars. Defintely HD! New logo and everything.

I do not believe that anything else has been in HD to date. The Tom and Jerry cartoons are defintely not the CinemaScope versions. Stretch-O-Vision!

But watching Clone Wars tonight was one of the best HD programs I have ever seen! Surround sound, beautiful colors and just awesome! I am stoked to see more!

Metalocalypse was HD for all of Season 2. No stretch-o-vision.
Why do people keep saying this? This isn't the first thread over this topic about CN and HD. Now I didn't see the first Ep of Clone wars thanks to my Hr20 but I expected it to be a big enough show for CN to get up and turn on the HD. Now before this as a avid Adult Swim watcher (VB is awesome and I often record other shows as well from AS) I have NEVER seen anything but strech on CN. I know tons of articles have said CN shows are being made in HD but CN to my knowledge has never shown any of them in HD. I usually record something from AS every night it's on and I'm not just repeating something from a BS article. With that said Clone Wars seems to be the first show to be in true HD unless what dcowboy said is correct about the show before Clone Wars.

I'm with you on this one. The first actual HD this channel showed was on Friday. Shows like Tom and Jerry have never been shown in HD on this channel. I think people get fooled more easily with the cartoons.

I said it because Metalocalypse was not stretch-o-vision.

It definitely was stretch-o-vision. For whatever reason, people are much more easily fooled by animation. But make no mistake about it, CN hadn't shown anything in HD before this weekend.
According to my cousin who works for CN, whom I have once again called about this, Metalocalypse Season 2 was NOT stretch-o-vision.

According to my eyes, it was. I know what I saw, it was so clearly stretch-o-vision that I'm not even going to continue arguing about it. Ted Turner could call me up right now and tell me that it wasn't, and I would tell him he's wrong.
