The picture quality on this channel is by far the worst. I watched part of a basketball game earlier and it was strechted, but it was that funky stretch where the center is normal but the edges stretch out. Made it look really weird. Now a football program is on and the PQ is even worse. I compare the PQ w/ that of a recorded VHS program.

as with most new channels that come online, this is normal

I just scanned through the new HD channels last night. Agree CBS College wasn't good but not sure what the original source was. I only noted it was a replay of NCAA final four but not the year. When CBS first started doing HD they didn't broadcast every game in HD and the ones that were in HD had a mix of HD and SD cameras. So poor original source may also be contributing to poor PQ now.

They were replaying this year's tournament over the past several days. It looked awful. It looked like a stretched SD signal to me. It was not marked as HD in the guide. It was still a beautiful thing to see the Jayhawks on top of the basketball world as they should be.

oops! I realized this was a Dish thread. I am viewing it on DirecTV.

It is a horrible waste of a good HD channel. I was expecting some good true 16:9 sports but all it is is SD stretch-o-vision just like Cartoon Network. There should be a law about stretching a 4:3 image to 16:9. So you have side pillars. At least it looks correct. Not like fat midgets.

I watched part of the 2008 Kansas/Memphis final replay last night and was thinking to myself, "Wasn't this broadcast in HD?" It looked bad. Hopefully they'll get their stuff together in the near future.
