CE Updates

I have a HR21-100, have had it for about a month now. It was never very slick to begin with, definitely way slower than my old piece of crap original receivers, but other than that, I didn't have too many lockups, but once I connected it to my network, It has become a piece of junk. Anyway, I was curious about the updates. I don't see anywhere to manually check for or even manually install updates. Is this even possible or is this something that is always done automatically in the background?
