Has anyone had any luck in changing to another set of local channels? I am sorry to ask as I am sure this has been covered but I could not find anything when searching.
Ok some background here. I live in Portales, NM and we can get (really poor quality) channels ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and the real local PBS stations off of translators from about 20 miles away (the PBS full power station in HD is only about 2 blocks away). We can get either the stations from Amarillo, TX or from Albuquerque, NM. When I got Dish a couple of weeks ago they said we are in the Amarillo “district” and that is the locals that they turned on. All of the Amarillo stations are in SD. Now I am told by a friend in the next county south of us (a distance more than 75 miles from Albuquerque, NM than we are here in Portales, NM) that they have a choice when they set up there accounts with Dish. They can choose from the Midland/Odessa, TX locals or from Albuquerque, NM. All of Albuquerque, NM locals are in HD. I called Dish and a lady (with poor English) said I would have to move to Albuquerque, NM to get the Albuquerque, NM locals. So the questions is, has anyone had any luck getting Dish to change the “locals” to another market?
