I've been watching Channel 82 for some of the Olympics from NBC 4 New York. Actually I didn't watch the Olympics I just checked for the Heck of it and it's on.
This has been done before. The Super Bowl, for instance. Fox national HD was turned on to cover markets that did not have local Fox HD or if the local HD went bonkers. This is a network thing. NBC is allowing it.
If this is a way to get the Olympics live to West coast folks, I'm all for it. It's annoying watching the coverage now, the announcers talking about Michael Phelps going for gold Live, when I already know what the result it.
well the scrooge's at the NAB really mess things up. It's a shame that we can't subscribe to Distant Network Service if we want to. It's a shame we can't get other cities local channels if we wish to pay a fee to get them.
