Channel 95 Am I allowed to complain?

This afternoon I checking to see which center ice channel my Blackhawks are on. Now lately, the guide for Center Ice has been almost non existent, meaning almost minutes until gametime and the channels don't list which games are being carried. Sometime I will check at 4pm and they are listed, then they disappear 30 minutes later.
But today channel 97 list the [email protected] at 7pm. I hit record and go on with my day. So I get home at 655pm and settle down to watch my Hawks in HD and come 705pm, no yellow dvr light. I go to list and its not there. I hit info and "Title not Available" shows up.
Now it's blacked out on comcast Chicago here in Tulsa, and it is on channel 769 in SD (yuk, but better than nothing).
So my question is this a glitch or not? If I wasn't home tonight, I would have missed this recording.:eek2:

im a ranger fan and still miss amonte.........when he was traded for Matteau and NOONAN

Yes. Guide data for 95-99 seems to come and go according to some set of rules to which we are not privy.

I see it all the time.

For this, and because of the padding bug, the consensus is to use a manual recording for sporting events you care about, especially those in the 90's. A manual recording won't need padding, so you won't hit that bug, and it won't care about what's in the guide, so you won't be affected by that bug.

Ch 95 is notorious for having its guide info come and go...at least it was during NFL games.

Has anyone tried setting up a manual recording for ch. 95 to get around the Guide data issues?

We still would've won the cup w/out those 2 stiffs................Matteau's goal was a fluke.......if you watch it closely it went off Fetisov's leg.

But at least we did have Matteau's famous moment of glory as immortalized by Howie Rose (and I was AT the game)

Generally works, but even that can be hit or miss, since the channel "disappears" when there is no programming on it.

Your only hope is to babysit the ToDo list, as you have to to with all NHL Center Ice channels. I have found that, if your game starts at, say 4:30 locally (as the Isles do for me), don't look in the guide at 4:30. Look later, around 9 or so. When you find the game there, press record, then babysit the ToDo list.

P.S. Howie Rose is the best play by play man in the business (even when he called the Rangers).

I wish they would quit messing with the guide so we can record a HD sports program on 95. Sorry that your Hawks lost lastnight.

Here's another thought...

I know autorecord doesn't work, but if you know your team will be on 95,96,97,98, just set up a keyword autorecord for one day. It won't work for your regular recordings, since CIR is not enabled, but for one day, it just might re-schedule the game automatically each time the channel re-appears.
