Channel changing to 9902 or 101

Every now and then my 722 will change to channel 9902 or channel 101 while I am watching TV. Sometimes when I turn the reciever on it will be on 9902 or 101. It does not do it if I am recording a show and so far it is only happened on TV1. Is this happening to anyone else?

Got neighbors? Someone who might be using a wireless remote close to your receiver?

Otherwise jumping to 101 is something that is done when you leave the receiver tuned to a VOD channel at the end of the day (5-6am) and you have not purchased the next day's program.
Adding to what James said... It can also happen if you were tuned to a blacked-out channel (say ESPN) at the time you turn it on. I've turned off my receiver with 140, but when I turned it on that was blacked out for a game I'm not supposed to get and it would come up on 101.

Also, I've had it do this at least once when an OTA channel was off... had been tuned to an OTA channel that went off the air and was still off when I turned my receiver back on.
I did have trouble with a neighbor on TV2. But I would see the channels being changed on the screen just like I was inputing them. Or I would see the guide come up. I changed the remote code and that took care of it.

The first few times I found it on DNFYI or Whats on Dish it was when I turned the reciever on. I just figured a power glitch or the channel I was on was off the air. But a couple of times it changed while I was watching TV with no indication the channel is being changed. I may go ahead and change the remote code for the IR remote and see what that does.

Thanks for your help.

I have both a 622 and a 722 and they both occasionally switch to channel 101 with no warning. I have seen this happen a couple of times and my wife says that it will happen a couple of times a week when she is at home during the day. I live in the country well away from any neighbors and the remotes for the 622 and 722 are on different addresses and are not in use when the channel changes. Is anyone else seeing this? My 722 is on L6.14 and my 622 is on L6.16.
Mine still does it but not as often as it did. It is not a neighbor's remote because I do not see the numbers being entered on the screen. Also when it changes I do not get the header information screen. If my 722 changes channels on its own it will do it at 5:12 am and only if I am watching a Dish provided local channel (Nashville, TN). It will interrupt a recording without any warning if I am recording a local channel and will interrupt playback if the receiver is on a local channel. It does it on TV1 or 2. It sometimes does it in the afternoon. I have emailed Dish a couple of times and all I get is they are working on it.

I think this is what we are seeing as well and we also have the Dish provided Nashville channels which might be a common factor.
I have never had it switch while I was watching something. But if the channel I was watching was locked or I guess hit a locked broadcast later, when I turn my 622 on, it will be on channel 101.

Exactly the results I see as well. Same thing happens if you are on a PPV and you turn off the receiver and your time for that PPV expires.

If your seeing this while watching TV it sounds like remote control interference and I would try switching to a different remote address.
I've seen this, but never while watching. Usually when I come back from watching something recorded or turn it on after being off awhile. This has only happened since I hooked up OTA about 3 months ago, so assumed it was related to that.

The issue of locked programming being the trigger makes sense though; I'll try to pay more attention to that in the future.
It is not a remote interference problem. I did have a problem with a neighbor's remote on TV2. I would see the numbers being entered on the screen or see the guide come up and scroll through the guide. I changed my remote code back then and that problem went away. This happens at 5:12am and only if I am on a local channel. And it goes to channel 101. I do not see it being entered on the screen and I do not get the channel info at the top of the screen that normally comes up when a channel is changed. It will interrupt a recording if I am recording a local channel with no warning dialog box asking if you want to stop recording. It also does it on TV1.
When I got home from work today my wife was on the phone with Dish technical support. She had a program delayed (paused and restarted) on WTVF (5) in Nashville and the 622 with L6.16 switched to 101. She was not happy. They had her change remote addresses even though she was the only person within 0.25 miles and had not touched a remote. It is not remote related. They said they would work the problem and get back to her.
I've seen my 622 with L6.15 switch to ch 101 a few time in the last couple weeks while I'm watching a program. Nice to know I'm not the only one. Fortunately it hasn't happened while recording a program. I'm quite sure it's not a neighbor's remote. Either a problem with the new software or something failing in the receiver is my guess.

New DBStalk user here. I signed up for the forum because of issues my 722/L614 has been having lately..

Anyway I'll get an error 002 message for channels 9901 or 9900 - happens even if I'm not watching them or watching a DVR playback. When it clears up I'll be watching 9901 or 9900....
