Haven't received an answer from Directv about this.....is there a way to view the history of the channels that have been watched? I can find the history of what has been DVR'd, but not of channels watched.

Welcome to the forums. 
As far as I know,there is not an option for history of channels viewed.
We have 2 of the HR20-700 HD DVR's,and there is an option to view a history of recorded programs.This is how I view the history on these HD DVR's.
Go to main menu.
Select Manage Recordings
Select History
From that point,it lists a history of programs that have been recorded,partially recorded,deleted or canceled.
Hope the info helps.

On the HR2X DVRs, there's a Previous Channels feature that I believe is available from the yellow button while viewing live TV. I think that you used to be able to get to it via the "menu" button, so you may want to try that, too. It's intended to let you jump back to a channel that you viewed earlier.

If you are talking about a feature in which you can look back and see that someone was watching channel aaa at 2:00 on Tuesday, or something like that (as you can with what may have been recorded on a DVR), then no, there is no such feature.

If you hit the yellow button while watching live TV, there's a "Previous Channels" item that's different from the Previous Channel button on the remote (which just toggle between two channels, or a channel and a recording). It actually gives you a list of the previous channels (with call letters), and you can select one. It doesn't give you a time/date history, though.JLucPicard said:
What is the method by which items get deleted from history? I know all software downloads stay in history, but for regular programs I thought anything more than 1 month old was removed. Back in the day when I first got DirecTV (circa 2000), my first Hughes receiver had a neat feature which kept track of which channels were watched and for how long. The data was available as a receiver-generated "top 10 channels" favorites list!! It was very cool and I looked at it at least once a week.
I believe the current receivers keep track of what you watch and every now and then phone DirecTV with the information. This is how the "what's hot" feature in DirecTV Active gets it's information. You can choose to NOT have your receiver gather this data by having "block viewing data collection" added to your account. But unfortunately, there is no way for the user to access this information about their own viewing habits directly.
