So why is it that when TV Land went from channel 301 to channel 304, the change was made automatically, but when all the RSN channel numbers change the changes have to be done manually?

I was wondering why they made the switch in the middle of a show? I was watching MASH and during a commercial a notice said that TV Land has moved to 304.

All I know is that the message of it switching to Ch. 304 goes off on Wednesday morning (7/30) at 6am ET to "To Be Announced". This probably has to do with D11 lighting up some new HD channels.

My theory is that they will move ABC Family HD/SD to Ch. 301 to fit in with all of the family/kid channels in the 290s and early 300s. Then, in the future they may put Hallmark Movie Channel HD/SD where ABC Family (311) used to be, right next to Hallmark Channel (312). But this is all just a theory! I have nothing to back this up.
