Channel Outages????

909 Views 8 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  puckwithahalo
I seem to have lost satellite reception on various channels throughout the afternoon today. I thing it might be only HD channels but I have not done a complete search through the channels to see which ones are not working. At least once I saw a message pop up on one of the dead channels saying something like "Dish is aware of the problem and is working to fix it and there is no need to call in". Anyone else having issues?

It would help to know which channels you are having problems with.

I changed from comcast to dish 6 weeks ago. My local channels[ 6 of them ] come and go at will. Dish has made 2 service calls and replaced the 722 but I still have the same problem. I get an error message 015 and then a screen that say they are aware of the problem and I can watch non-local channels. Both techs told me that there is a software fix coming as there appears to be a current problem. Dish will make another service call, but they want to charge 29.99. Why should I pay to fix a problem that started on the first day of installation? Any suggestions?

I get the same message when I try to view a local HD channel but other HD channels are getting the searching for satellite signal screen and then never come up. I also think this is happening on only one of the tuners. If swap over I am able to view every channel.

Talk to someone else at E*, the have a 90 day warrenty on installs, I just got my 722 at the first of this month and have had no problems to speak of out of it.
This thread is again postponing my call to the local tree company!

Happens often when watching NESN (which I always am) during ballgames. Sometimes more stable if I remain on the SD feed, sometimes I'm able to change channel up/down and it comes back, sometimes not. More prevalent during afternoon, early evening, very unusual after 8 -9 pm EDT.

Once it begins, it does seem to come and go quite a bit. By trying different channels, it seems to be on 61.5 sat, but then the receiver can't find 110/119 either for a while. Also, signal is actually lost, as I am unable to go backwards using DVR function past the interruption, even after signal returns

My set-up:

722 in single mode (using PIP) feeding a Panasonic plasma

211 feeding Samsung LCD

311 feeding very old Sony Trinitron

I lost all my HDs, SD's when I turned on my 722 around Saturday at 7:45 PM, and after clearing the switch counters and re-doing it went back to normal this morning when I finally got my signal back.

I was hoping there were in the process of activating E-11. Wishful thinking.

My receiver (622) seems to be working normal this morning I can get HD on both tuners. Maybe Dish fixed it or it was me powering off the unit last night when I went to bed.

I missed the first half of a sporting event that I had set to record because that HD channel was out and it never started recording. Grrrrr.

your issue sounds like you may have a heat-sensative lnb.
