Without violating anything, lets just say that under certain conditions people can be required to have all their receivers dial in for verification purposes. Trust me I just spent hours running phone wiring I didnt want to do but I didnt have much choice. I can always cal D* and verify its called home but figured I would see if I could avoid that.RunnerFL said:Nope, no way to do either.
Why do you ask?
If you have it hooked up to your network and allowed to access the Internet there is no need for the phone line. In that situation the call home is done via network.rahlquist said:Without violating anything, lets just say that under certain conditions people can be required to have all their receivers dial in for verification purposes. It's not on the network yet but will be in another day (ran cat 5e while running phone line) still need to hookup the jack near the etherswitch. The conditions laid out for me require phone hookup whether its still gonna dial ever while internet connected I don't know, just doing as I am told.RunnerFL said:If you have it hooked up to your network and allowed to access the Internet there is no need for the phone line. The only other thing I can tell you is you can sit there and watch the lights on the DVR constantly. If it's making a call in the record light turns a different color than it is for record. But still no way to verify if it was successful or not.rahlquist said:It's not on the network yet but will be in another day (ran cat 5e while running phone line) still need to hookup the jack near the etherswitch.
