Chicago Cubs Home Opener

"Thanks" DTV and Tribune. For the first time in I don't know how many years I'm going to miss the home opener. I'm sick and tired of being held hostage over these channel disputes. I'm paying for the channels so wtf. I'm sure I'll be compensated for not receiving what I pay for every month. Please no posts about the Cubs. I've been a fan a long time so I know what I'm in for every year - you don't have to remind me.

You'll see it on channel 726-1...or MASN. Extra Innings is free for a week or 2.
Thank you so much, Sigma! Serously, I can't thank you enough. I totally forgot that MLB EI usually does a week or 2 free at the beginning of the season. I don't have that anymore becuase I traded it for the NFL ST. Eases the pain a bit of yet another channel dispute.
Extra Innings Free Preview is April 5-15. There is usually a free preview after the All Star break as well.

No problem. Don't worry, by the end of the free preview, the Cubs will probably be out of it. I kid. ;)
Also, you can register an account on MLB.com for free and you can get the WGN Feed on MLB.tv (they have a free preview for the first week) and you can hook up your computer to your TV with an HDMI Cable or if you have a Roku box the MLB.tv app is free. There ARE ways around it!

We'll see - maybe we'll make it to at least the "June Swoon".
Thanks, everyone for all of your tips and suggestions. Very helpful! :)

Won't it be blacked out on EI?
The OP is in Colorado.
But won't WGN national be blacked out on MLB.TV because . . . (drum roll) ... it's available on cable and satellite?
Lucky you're in Colorado...otherwise if you were in CHI-town likely it'd be blacked out on EI..that is if said opener falls on EI

Just wanted to point out what your compensation would be.

Local channels $3.00 monthly.

Most people have about 5 - 10 local channels available to them.

For arguments sake we'll use the lower side of the average, 5.

Again for arguments sake lets say on the high side lets say the negotiations last one month.

3 / 5 = 0.6

$0.6 credit.

Only if you're in Chi-Town, and in that case you can watch the game on Channel 9 OTA
Anyone who thinks we are paying to much for Sat/Cable TV needs to read this. Can it be that these companies are under estimating the cable cutting....

WGN is bac on already.
Wonderful news. Channel 307 WGN America is back on the air. Now Cubbies Can you guys go out and win on opening day? It's been a LONG time since the Cubs have gotten to open the season at Wrigley. I was getting so worried that us Cub fans wouldn't get to watch the home opener on WGN where ALL Cubs fans know the games should be ALL the time. Thank you DirecTv and Tribune for reaching an agreement so us baseball junkies can enjoy opening day :D
