You haven't been paying attention, Chicago HD on 61.5 was turned on back on June 25th.
Possibly but I don't think so. They were linked to 61.5 about that time but I don't think they were activated for customers. Today is the first time I've seen my receivers able to access them. I've been checking just about every day because I've had so much trouble with rain fade on 129.garys said:You haven't been paying attention, Chicago HD on 61.5 was turned on back on June 25th.
I'm not sure when they were uplinked to 61.5, but they were moved to the same channel numbers as 129 on June 18th, so they were uplinked before then. They became available to subscribers on the 25th. Dish may have changed the software (there was a new version released, not sure when) which may have caused your receiver to switch over to 61.5, but if you have removed 129 after the 25th on your own, you would have had this sooner. Check the uplink report and you will see the dates of the move.BillJ said:Possibly but I don't think so. They were linked to 61.5 about that time but I don't think they were activated for customers. Also looks like my receivers have given up on 129 for national HD in favor of 61.5. Not surprising with the signal differences.

Not what I meant, you stated your receiver seemed to pick 129 over 61.5 and now picks 61.5 over 129. The software change I was referring to may have changed which sat your receiver picked, not the transponder mapping.Bill R said:Gary,
Just an FYI for you and others that may not know it: It does not require a receiver software change when DISH moves (or duplicates) channels to another satellite. They send down a new "map" in the data stream that tells the receiver which satellite (and transponder) to switch to to receive each channel.
I think that you have me confused with BillJ.garys said:Not what I meant, you stated your receiver seemed to pick 129 over 61.5 and now picks 61.5 over 129.
