Does anybody have any opinion about using the clip on antenna that directv sell for about fifty bucks. I am located some 13 miles from the towers. I don't have a hdtv as I am waiting for the Jacksonville area to get lit up later this year to buy my first one.
Thanks for any help on this, pro or con.

Sounds expensive to me. I'm guessing the smallest radio shack antenna at half the price or less should do unless you have major obstructions or building reflections.

Cheers and welcome to the forums! :welcome_s

the clip on style antennas are of an omnidirectional technology. If you live in a city that has alot of trees, tall buildings or water towers; you will NOT be happy with the results.

I suggest a directional antenna that can be either attic mounted or on a pole outside of the house.....
