A tech ran a cable down the clothes dryer vent from the roof into the house!
Wow umm thats interesting. Because from what I understand due to fire risk there are usually a lot of building codes around dryer ducts. I'd question that install myself.dtvcsr said:Is this a commonly accepted method of installing the cable? I've never heard of it.

Looks like a fire waiting to happen. I'd have him come right back out. Many, many fires start in clothes dryer vents.dtvcsr said:Is this a commonly accepted method of installing the cable? I've never heard of it.

that is exactly why it is against all building codesEXTACAMO said:That could also accelerate the accumulation of lint inside your dryer vent possibly causing a fire. :nono2:

someone should clothesline that installerdtvcsr said:I had never ran across that before. It sure didn't meet with the definition of standard install. I love the jokes.."lint fade"..lol
That was my question too...How did he get cable back out of the vent? Now, even if they come out and re-route the cable, someone will likely need to patch the dryer vent.dave29 said:thats a fire hazard and against all building codes.
i just have one question.....
how did he bring the cable back out of the dryer vent in the house?
