There's a lot of HD content, especially at night, on these networks.

I've yet to see anything in 16 X 9 except for commercials. Recent feature films were all shot in widescreen, yet every time I tune in to check one out on any one of these networks I have been disappointed to see them in 4 X 3.

It was just before 10 PM eastern when I observed the 4X3 Kindergarten Cop. How late at night does it have to be before they show some true HD programs?

I agree, and think the providers should pull HD channels that do not show HD, and replace them with ones that do. Its a real shame true HD channels cannot get on, but these channels do.

Jersey Shore is broadcast in 16:9... with black bars on all 4 sides. :nono:

i have directv and when i watch any of those hd channels they are always in 16 by 9

The MTV Networks group must not think highly of their HD viewers. Why else would they show Jersey Shore in a 4-sided letterbox? Why shoot programming in 16X9 then put it out as if it's been downrezzed for the SD version of the network?

Full 16:9. Terminator was on CMT, I Just Want My Pants Back (funny new show) was on MTV, & a documentary was on VH1.

Currently, CMT & VH1 are both showing reality shows in HD. MTV is airing the 2005 Charlie & The Chocolate Factory in HD, too.

Jersey Shore is one of the only newer shows not in HD on those channels.

Dish sends out what the channel provides, should be asking the channels. Not everything produced was done in HD, you might want to let us know which programs you are having the problem with, not just the channels.

Note, mtv shows That 70's Show, it was never filmed in HD. Don't watch too much else on those channels.

They all have to cater to everybody. That's why we have don't have a scifi channel anymore and wrestling where scifi prime used to be. It sucks big time!
