CNN Headline News HD?

Since there's been a lot of HD talk lately I've taken the time to ask myself which channels that aren't offered in HD that I'd like. Actually the two channels I watch the most aren't HD. That's Turner Classic Movies and CNN Headline News.

I wasn't sure whether or not either was even broadcasted in HD (not on D* obviously but anywhere) and I found that neither is.

What I found in my limited searching is TCM is actually considering it but there's absolutely zip in regards to CNN HLN.

I'm bummed. I start my day out waking up to Robin (I agree I'd love to see her in HD glory) but as of now I can't find any information that CNN is even considering it.

I hope not. I like CNN but abhor CNN headline news. Nancy Grace makes me physically ill (well, not really, but I detest her stuff)

Good use of HD bandwidth.

I liked CNN Headline News before they went and messed with it. Since they went and modified the look and feel, I do not turn it on very much.

Besides Fox News has better looking women!

If I even see a commercial with Nancy Grace, I change the channel. Doesn't matter how good the programming was. I watch AlJazeera and INN for news, neither of which are carried by DirecTv.

Not to pick on you individually, but I for the life of me, can't figure out why anyone would not want a channel to be shown in HD, no matter what channel it is.

If you don't want to watch it, don't. But others do.
Out of the 130ish HD channels DirecTv offers now, I may watch less than 25 on a consistent basis. But I do not wish all the others to discontinue their HD broadcasts.

There is no bandwidth issue. So the more choices, the better. Period.

rrrick8 - there's gotta be some sort of bandwidth issue - Look at the big D11 rollout - what did we get, 5 new channels and a whole lot of PPV

I'd say contract and upload equipment issues. Not bandwidth.

Does anyone know if/when CNN will broadcast in HD from Atlanta?

One would expect CNN to do HD from Atlanta at some point. Now that the NY studio is done and live, they should be working on HD in Atlanta now.

I've been wondering about Headline News also. I'm wondering..... those that don't want HLN in HD because they don't like Nancy Grace, are they petitioning D* to remove CBS HD because they don't like Andy Rooney? Or NBC because they don't like Jay Leno? I must have missed something when they changed HLN to the Nancy Grace Network.
