The 2008 college football schedules are now being finalized. Looks like we are in for a real treat with 20-25 HD games to choose from each Saturday. Looks like D* has everything in place to make it all a reality! The schedules from ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN U, ABC, FSN, NBC, CBS and The Big Ten Network looks like this. Gonna be a great Autumn for us collage football fanatics! :D

Thanks. I was hoping for a link this. Last year, someone posted a link for I site (I believed tied to LSU) that showed every televised college game, whether it was in HD, and DirecTV channel number. This was very useful for those with the Sports Pack and could see some games off the beaten track. If someone could post that site/link again, it would be greatly appreciated.

I did some searching and here's the site I talked about above. Currently, it's not as complete as the other site, but last year I found it to be a valuable resource.

I probably missed some announcement, but does (or when will) D* offer ESPN U in HD? No mention of it on their web site.

When they find a way to offer the regional stuff that's usually on ESPN Gameplan (e.g., ACC games on RayCom) in HD, then they'll have "everything in place to make it all a reality".

Regardless, you are correct, things are getting better all the time for watching college football!!

SatelliteRacer implied that there is currently no agreement for DirecTV to show ESPNU HD, which would explain why there is no announcement. Hopefully this will get done in less than four weeks when football starts.

It has been spoken with informed authority around here that ESPN U will be carried by D* on or around 8/28.

According to mattsarz's webpage:

Versus will broadcast select Big 12, MWC, PAC-10 and Ivy League games. With respect to the MWC, this is in regards to a deal between Comcast and CBS College Sports.

Not sure what that means....

Edit: Found this....

"The MWC has a national cable contract with CBS College Sports. CBS College Sports has partnered with Comcast to operate the MWC's regional TV network, the mtn. In turn, Comcast has the rights to select football games to air nationally on Versus."

Still doesn't say HD.

Fox owns 49% of the channel. Big Ten owns 51%.
And Fox supplies the technology.
