In a rather big breakthrough for Mark Cuban's high-def property, Comcast has
agreed to carry HDNet and HDNet Movies in its high-def programming lineup.

On a personal note, this is great news for me. I have been lobbying Comcast for
almost two years to carry the HDNets . Also, the announcement is particularly
timely for me, as it will figure heavily into my choice of MCVP as I move into
my new home later this month.

Comcast has had HDNet in Houston for a while.

There is no such thing as a nationals HD list for "Comcast" like there is for satellite. Totally depends on location. On the other hand, having Comcast usually means you have HD locals, if there are HD locals and if your neighborhood "wiring" is sufficiently up-to-date.

The operative words in that release are "in many of its systems". Not in all of its systems. It will still be up to each local Comcast whether they carry it. Here in Portland, Oregon the local Comcast company only has 12 HD channels besides the locals.
