I got the HR20 about two weeks ago, and have been having constant video-out problems. Periodically, the screen start to get dark, then goes black, then comes back on, then goes off and my TV says "No signal". I am still getting audio. If I turn off the box for a few minutes, it typically comes back and works fine for a little while.

Questions:
(1) Anyone else having this problem?
(2) Any ideas what is wrong?

A few more details might help. Your subject says component video, but are you running the signal through an AV receiver or straight to the TV? I presume you've already tried swapping cables to make sure it's not just a bad connector or wire?

My hook up is with component video - through my Marantz receiver - to a Sony SXRD
no issues

Straight to the TV. Checked the wires and connectors...

I would try cycling through the formats - you aren't pressing the format button by mistake are you? Are you using Native format on? If so try turning it off and setting the output formats to only those your TV will accept.

If still no good get on the replacement list as quickly as possible.

Yeah, get a new box. My HR20 is connected via component through my Yamaha receiver and the only time I get a "No signal" message from the TV is if the Yamaha is off. Sounds like your component outputs are going out. Likely to be a bad solder joint inside somewhere. As it heats up and cools down it's making intermittent connection and then failing. This could just be a bad solder job at the factory or it could be caused by pressure against the jack from a component cable being bent too close to the receiver and pushing on it. Anyway, sounds like a new box is in order.
