computer to tv hookup
I believe Direct has a kit to hookup computer to tv. Does anyone know the cost of this?

I only have one TV and DVR. It is the HR23.
Why not just build yourself a HTPC?

DIRECTV2PC would be the software we have the would do that. as for connecting the TV to computer check fora VGA input on the tv you also need a 3.5mm to composit cable for audio.
You can also use a DVI to HDMI cable and said 3.5mm to composit cable or if your vid card is big enough it will have HDMI out on it and have the ability to push sound through it.
As far as DIRECTV suppulyed hardware would only be a CCK/CCK-W for connecting your receiver to your home network.

You have a computer, what outputs does it have? If it has vga only, you'll need a vga input on your tv or device that converts vga to component or composite, etc.westview said:I only have one TV and DVR. It is the HR23.
Directv does not make a kit to connect your pc to your tv. They offer software to allow you to watch your recorded programs on your pc, but internet streaming from your pc to your tv is outside of what Directv does.

DirecTV has YouTube and Pandora built into the HD-DVRs if you have them hooked up to your home internet service. DirecTV also has a function on the DVRs called MediaShare that allows you to watch some videos and play some music off your computer using your DVR. However the types of files it supports are very limited. Most here would recommend getting something like a Roku, or AppleTV instead of trying to use MediaShare. MediaShare is supposedly going to be updated eventually, and we hope it will support more files when that is done, but we have no idea when that will happen and what it will support, so I wouldn't recommend waiting on it if it is something that is important to you.
If you are trying to watch your DirecTV programming on your computer/monitor then you need to check out DirecTV2PC like the others mentioned, as well as DirecTV anywhere.
