Ok, so I recorded trading spouses the other night on Fox HD. I have a 4:3 TV, so I got the expected postage stamp effect (black bars on all 4 sides) but the weird thing is that a little bit of what looked like an extended picture was peeking through on the top right and left and it really looked like the picture continued further (widescreen) but the station just cut it off. Do they do that because the standard channels prefer to show 4:3 right now, even though it looked like the show was filmed in widescreen? Funny thing is, it would help out us 4:3 TV folk that record on the HD channels if they showed more shows in widescreen.
