Is there some method of connecting the CCK (DCAW1R0-01) to the internet on a network with the SSID Name Broadcast feature disabled?
An earlier version of the CCK - the DCCK - has, in it's manual found on the web, a way for users to manually enter the SSID name and the related network key, etc. just as one can manually do on other devices, for instance an iPad.
I have an HR34 with the CCK and the WLAN light is not lit, and under System Info>Info there is the yellow ! beside STB Services Port: N/A (205) and another yellow ! beside Internet: Not Connected (22)
All the IP address, subnet mask, etc info is filled out correctly. The CCK was initially installed and successfully connected to the internet using the WPS buttons on the router (Netgear) and the CCK with the SSID Broadcast feature "Enabled". The router was later logged into and the SSID Broadcast "Disabled" and now the CCK is not connected to the internet and the WLAN light is not lit on the CCK.
Anyone know how to get the CCK connected to the internet without "Enabling" the SSID broadcast and leaving the SSID broadcast on full time?
There is a method of adding a 'client' in the routers wireless users settings but I need a 'Pin' for the CCK. (I think the CCK would be considered the 'client'.)
I tried going thru the WPS button method with the SSID disabled and was unsuccessful.
Thanks.
