Received my CCK this morning and got my HR22 connected to my wifi network. I also received a DECA to connect my HR20 to the network. When the tech was here last week doing the install, I thought he said I only needed to connect the Ethernet cable from the DECA to the HR20, but that doesn't work. The Default Gateway and DNS spaces were blank (Result Code 86-468) so i tried using the same ones from the HR22, but that doesn't work, nor does putting the DECA inline.

Not being a networking guru, I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need:
1 CCK to bridge to your home network,
1 DECA for your HR22,
1 DECA for your HR20.

Is this what you have?

I don't have a DECA connected to the HR22, although it is connected through a SWM. I have the CCK connected to the HR22 also.

There are ways to use a WCCK in double duty mode, but it also requires a BSF on the receiver's input.

Might help if you would post a layout of your setup. "It can be done in crayons" as it doesn't need to look good, but only show what you have and how it's wired.

The installer left me his cell number and said he was available for 30 days, so he's coming back tomorrow to set everything up. Thanks for the replies though!

Depending on what the manufacturer (-xxx) is for the HR20 I think I remember that the connection is a bit different.

While there is, it isn't applicable here with a HR20-700

Have you tried going into the Networking portion of the Setting menu and resetting everything to defaults after connecting the DECA? If the HR20 and DECA are properly connected, it should be pulling the gateway and DNS settings from your router.

Think what you may/might be missing is the HR20 + DECA doesn't have "anybody to talk to", since the WCCK it using the HR22's ethernet port, and most likely not connected to the coax.

He told me to unplug the cable after I had the DECA attached to the 20, then reset both receivers. I did that, and now even the CCK won't connect to my wifi network.

I've about given up. He said he would be by tomorrow to straighten thing out.

So you're saying I need a DECA on both receivers? I'm in no position to argue since networking is not something I grasp very well, but the tech said I only needed one on the HR20 because the HR22 was connected through a SWM. (Or at least I thought that's what he said).

"He said" I don't know what I'm talking about, OH wait, That's what I said. :lol:

The image I've double posted is how it will work.

Another option is to use a bandstop filter between the WCCK and the HR22, but you do need to connect the WCCK to the coax, and then ethernet to the HR22.

The WCCK will work with the other DECA, also through ethernet to the HR22, and connect through WiFi to your router.
The techs were NEVER taught how to do this, but it too works.
The "key" is you need a BSF or the SAT input will have problems on the HR22.
