I have a SWM Home Network with 2 HD-DVRs and 1 HD receiver, all connected to the network and each other via DECA adapters. This all works fine. I also have some other 'active' DirecTV outlets in some other rooms that aren't currently connected to anything.

Is there any way I can use these outlets to connect other devices, e.g. computers, to the home network without a HD receiver. I have some extra DECA adapters. I tried to connect the DECA to the COAX outlet but the power light doesn't come on; I assume the power comes from the HD receiver.

Can I somehow use the outlet without a DECA adapter?

Suggestions appreciated.

You need an IRD or power supply to make your DECA light up and give access to the cloud.

Just be aware that adding other devices into the DECA cloud does have the potential to affect your MRV functionality.
