I have no regrets about upgrading. it was a very good move for us. We had a relatively trouble free 921, and even fewer problems with the 622.
Like lujan said, I don't see much point in buying a receiver. At least not now. In the past, you could buy a receiver and keep it for 5-10 years, at a cost that is equivalent to leasing/renting for 2 years or less. Now, buying a receiver will cost the equivalent of leasing for 4-6 years. It just doens't make financial sense.
