Anyone able to control; their Dish DVR over their network? Since this used to be possible via dish.sling.com and see what was on the dvr, play things on the tv 1, etc. (which cannot be done via dishonline), there is some sort of IP interface built into the DVR. I want to use that. Does anyone have any doc or link to somewhere that posts the interface? This would allow my remote to show useful information as well. I figured someone would have this by now, have been unable to find any info.

Yes, I realize I can control via IR, but, I want additional information from the DVR.

Not sure what you are looking for.

Dish receivers with Sling capability have some measure of ability to control and view with Dish Online or mobile apps... Dish receivers without Sling have some limited ability to control through the same methods.

There is no other way to "connect" and "control" the Dish receivers through the Internet.

DirecTV has actually published the IP interface details for their boxes, and people have written apps to control them. iRule for example can control a DirecTV box entirely by IP. OP is probably looking for the same. AFAIK, Dish has not published those details and no one has discovered them yet. Whomever writes their apps would know, but getting that info out of them would be tough. Perhaps no one has asked yet.

Ok, that makes sense. As long as this functionality has existed, with no word from Dish, I bet we never hear an alternate method released to the public.

Heck, Dish even pulled back some features they used to support online... so I can't imagine they want anyone else writing alternative apps.
