I am a big CSI fan. I watched CSI Miami and was very disappointed. Maybe

I expected to much but to me it seemed like a sappy clone of the original.I am a big Kim Delaney fan, can take or leave David Caruso. Let me know if I missed something.

Pilots introduce the characters etc. They are not always typical of what follows. I was not all that excited either but will watch again.

I was disappointed as well. Just got on the CSI bandwagon and so had a somewhat new view of the show. We'll keep giving it a shot as my wife went to school with Emily Proctor so she wants to see how she does.

I like CSI, but the flashlights bug me... They must use a lot of smoke machines on the set while filming. When I use a flashlight, I never see the beam from the light like on the show. Oh well, I know its only TV!

CSI: Miami was a little disappointing. It is in a difficult position being "the same thing, only different" from such a successful predecessor. To me, Caruso always plays the same character, no matter what he is in, and lacks the "oomph" needed to spark some life into this lesser twin. The original has such a powerful cast. Kim Delaney did what she could but had little to work with & Caruso offered her little to play off of. Again, in their defense, they are in a bad position.

i was falling asleep at the end of the first ep, but the impression i got was that the crime wasn't solved thru their hard work, but the the girls mother brought in a suicide note(?) the daughter left behind that cleared things up....is that what hapened essentially...

cause if it did, then why waste time on the first fifty minutes????

While I only watch CSI occasionally, I did watch the first Miami episode and I have to agree, that to me, Caruso was too much the focus and they also didn't seem to have the cool 'reinactment' f/x shots that I've seen in CSI - car parts morphing back into shape, following a bullet trail, etc.

It'll probably be a moderate success but I doubt it'll come close to its predecessor.
