This is really frustrating. I wish DirecTV would make changes to this on-the-fly.
The real odd thing is in the past they have been real good with getting all the feeds for playoffs / CSN +2.

Maybe it's a inter / outer market thing. Cubs / sox games can be shown in areas the bulls can't be. I will E-mail CSN about this and see what they say.

Also there was on time where WE GOT the HD feed and comcast cable filed to trun it on there systems.

Comcast SportsNet is advertising on their ticker that the Bulls game should be on CSN Plus, but DirecTV screwed up and never aired it.

Good thing the A's just won, so the Bulls game will be on the main channel now.
just think if both games happened to be on WGN or WCIU then what will happen? a game will move to CLTV as a WGN and not a CSN + game?

The easy way is to add CLTV but that may not work as CSN + is not CLTV.

The playoffs/CSN+ 2 games are all planned in advance. Apparently DirecTV can't adapt in an emergency situation where a game runs deep into extra innings/overtime and unexpectedly runs over the timeslot for the next game.

I'm pretty sure WGN tries to never overbook so as to prevent issues like this; they understand that they're limited on secondary broadcast outlets. Has WGN ever transferred games to CLTV in the past? That would really suck if they did.

planned in advance? try like 1 day before at times.

And it's not like a baseball game will not run long and I have seen games in the past on WGN / WCIU that came close to the same thing. What is the plan then?

also the NBA and NHL playoffs happen at the same time (next year what will the plan be IF there is both a cubs and sox game on CSN and CSN +) and you have to show both a bulls and blackhawks game at the same time?

MLB does not plan around the NBA / NHL games. Now the NHL / NBA have to work together as a lot of city use the same stadiums for both.

By "planned in advance", one day's notice is plenty since it gives DirecTV time to add the game to their schedule and appropriately turn on the CSN+ feeds at the correct times.

Would CSN ever air 4 games at once, or is 3 their absolute max? Does DirecTV have the capacity to carry 3 extra CSN+ channels? I feel like this may have happened recently, but maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.

Honestly, I don't know what WGN would do if, say, they had a 20+ inning baseball game that ran over the timeslot of a basketball game.

for a a very short time in the 90's failed and the games moved to FSN / FSN + that used the CLTV slot.

also oddly CSN + started being used again CLTV after some time of useing CN101.

also more to WGN is some NBA games can be on WGNA and all MLB games. NO NHL games on WGNA. also NO NHL on WCIU.

I think CSN can show 3 games at one 2 in HD. BUT they have 3?? HD feeds inter / outer and plus. Also outer can be used for plus.

And directv seems to get a odd mix of the outer feeds. Been time where the outer feed was on comcast chicagoland systems but not on directv. But there have been times where Directv got outer and put it on the plus feed (it was not a plus otter game) Csn web site does list some outer stuff as PLUS outer and other as just outer.

outer =outer market and inner = inner market

Also there may be been a few times that CSN + had FSN stuff (with no CSN logo) on it that the CSN website did not list at all.

But real odd thing was diretv was the first system to list the CSN +2 feed years ago.

Yes i also missed a portion of the Bulls game because of the Sox's and A's 5 extra innings, but they should have switched to CSNC Plus for the Bulls game and after Sox's game back to CSNC.

Also noticed the quick switch to the Bull's game during the 14th inning of the Sox's game 2 run lead, then switched back with a tie game to then lose the game. :D

the only issue with is the EI feed use and the sox can air in the full CSNC and0 the bulls can not.

DirecTV opened up Fox Sports Indiana which was airing the game, instead of putting the game on Comcast Sports Net +. Once the Sox game finished they blacked out Fox Sports Indiana again, and game search told you to switch to Comcast Sports Net Chicago.
