i just installed a 2 dish setup its a 18x20 with the 95 dish going through a 6x8 multiswitch. when i i choose the option for 18x20 with 95 i dont get the 95 signal but if i hookup the 95 signal direct to the receiver it works fine. i had this problem before with just the 95 dish not being connected the 3rd port but now that i have all 4lines from the 18x20 dish going into the first 4 ports on the switch i hooked the 95 dish into the flex port i tried both but nothing. can some help.

Did you chop the power to reset everything? The five input configuration is correct.

It looks like the 95 is not pointed correctly because the receiver should not see the 95 unless is going through the switch. Are you sing a meter to align the 95?

If it works fine when connected directly to the receiver as the TS stated, it seems safe to assume that it is peaked.

I was wondering about that when I read it, but it was late and decided to pick it up in the morning;

How can the TS have the 95 dish directly hooked-up to the receiver and see that it works just fine?

It has to connect through a switch's flexport with at least a properly aimed 101 LNBF feeding the SAT A inputs on the switch for the receiver to even detect the 95 dish.

Good point;

Remember the 95w ("World Direct" service) dish's linear LNBF operates in the standard 11.7-12.2 GHz FSS downlink band which a lot of satellites use. So its very easy to pick-up signals from the wrong bird thinking its the G3C one.

wow thanks for the input guys im using super buddy29 i do have signal because i double checked the 101 also and im on the bird but what i dont understand is why when even using the 18x20 dish and the first 4 ports of the 6x8 i should be able to use either of the flex ports and i wont pick up the 95 it either gets the 18x20 or 95 by itself. i had to just use the round dish 18 option with 95 in order for it to work.

That doesn't sound right. It is an entirely different type of dish/LNB and you should not have seen anything if that is what you selected. It is possible you are aimed incorrectly, and as HoTat2 noted it is easy to get a signal off the incorrect satellite.

if you used the 18 with 95 option, then the 95 MUST go on the 18v 22k tone port on the 6x8.

basically i have 2 lines from the 18x20 dish in the first 2 ports then what i did to get it working was take the 95 line and connect it to the 18v22k port but i should of been able to hookup all 4 lines from the 18x20 to the switch and then the 1 line from the 95 dish into a flex port. when i use that setup and go to option 9 i believe which is 18x20 with 95 it doesn't work.

Did you try running the setup the way it should be, four lines from the P.III dish and the international dish on flexport 1, then after selecting the correct dish configuration finish the setup and do a RBR on the D12 to let it re-detect everything?

Seems the flexports are not working for some reason. If still nothing I'd try another WB68 switch. They're not very expensive these days.

whats a RBR? i did run it like that but no luck i even tried both flex ports. i know the 95 is on the right bird because i activated the system and the customer is getting his korean programming.

ok so after trying and trying i just swapped out phase 3 dish with a slimline 5 problem solved
Curious, did you ever try another P.III first in case there was just something kooky about that one or the D12 receiver just not wanting to accept that configuration for some reason?

But at least, the customer is future-proofed for HD should he or she wish to upgrade later. :)
