Do you think the check was mailed with a return receipt requested, and a note that said "don't spend this all in one place"?

Grammar Primer (Yes, I am that d**k)

Lose - to misplace - e.g. Did D* just lose a satellite?
Loose - not tight - e.g. Is that coax connection loose?

Next weeks homonyms- Their and There
Let's not forget They're. :)
I read somewhere that they were ultimately going to have to pay about $400M to Tivo.
Relative to what they have ... yes. :)

It was a simple transfer of an escrow account. Perhaps they should have included a note "please don't spend it all on lawyers". :D

That was speculative and probably wishful thinking on that writers part. Dish is claiming they only owe 16M more, TiVo asked for up to 220M more. Depending on how the judge rules concerning Dish's failure to shut down DVRs per the injunction, the number could range from that low end up to something significantly higher than the 220M, or Dish could just settle with TiVo for an undisclosed amount. All we can do is wait and see.

The odds are that the number will come in below 400M when all is said and done. A lot of things have to happen that aren't likely to for it to get that high.
