So, do they do another season of Deadliest Catch? Will people watch? I like the show, but I'm not sure another season of big waves and pots full of crab will be all that enticing. We all know the captains and the crews pretty well too. What's left to do?

Discovery made an announcement in April of this year that they had ordered a 5th season of Deadliest Catch.

Thanks Larry...I hope they can come up with a different angle for the show. Not that watching the crew of the Northwestern eat the head off a herring isn't exciting.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just keep it simple, keep the crabs, waves, ice and people. Nothing fancy. I mean after the drama of Capt. Phil, you can't beat it. Real people, doing real work. And I'll watch again.

I'll be watching... "I want the crab count! And I want it now!" You gotta love the Northwestern crew. If nothing else, I want to see if Edgar finally sets himself on fire...

We've been watching "After the Catch" which they're hosting at another fishing on the east coast - IIRC, Massachusetts. They've even brought in some of the eastern fishermen. So I'm wondering if they might add on a section with the eastern fishing. Since they do King Crab and opillios, maybe they would follow it with the eastern fishing season?

The Opie season and Phils health problems saved the show for me this year. King Crab was really dull and had the Opie season been the same, I don't think I could have finished the season.

I do agree it's on waaaayyyyy too much. Every time my guide passes the discovery channel, it's on.

I enjoy the show and will watch another season.

I also really enjoyed After the Catch this season. I missed it entirely last season. I was pretty interesting hearing the guys talk and bringing in fishermen from the North Atlantic to tell their stories as well.
