Delete a Favorite from Dish Home Weather?

Does anyone know how to delete a city from the favorites list in Dish Home Weather? If there's a way, it sure isn't very obvious to us. We're using a 508.

TIA,

If you change the default city, the city that was default will be deleted.
Oh, this is good. If I understand correctly, to remove a city from the favorite list:

1) Change your default city to the one you want to delete. (This removes your current favorite city)
2) Go find your city again, and add it back in to the favorite list.
3) Switch your default city back to what it was, thus removing the city you wanted.

Man, I wish all things were this easy and intuitive!
That's why all this software is designed by clueless techo-geeks where it makes sense to them. Unfortunatly we can't blame E*, we can blame OpenTV. At least it's better than having to bring up a hex dump screen and changing the value at an octal address. :)
They must have "improved" it. Finally got around to trying it and all it does is swap the new local city with favorite it replaced. Nothing gets deleted.

I've wondered this before. I don't think there is a delete function, for the reason that there doesn't have to be. If you need to switch a favorite, overwrite an old one. This doesn't annoy anyone except us satellite "enthusiasts." :D
It works fine for me. Select a city on your favorites list, then press select which displays the current weather for that city, then select favorites again, it will say on the bottom of the screen to select local to make that city your local city, select local. The city above it will disappear. Keep doing this even for your true local city. When you get to the last city that you want to get rid of, select city finder, select your city, and make it your local. The last of the not wanted city's will be gone.

The trick here is to start at the bottom of the list until only one city remains regardless if that city is your local or not and no you cannot delete cities by highliting it in favorites and then selecting it as your local it will only shuffle it to the top. Sorry, I did not write this screwy software.
Well it doean't work for me. If I select a city on my favorites list, then press select which displays the current weather for that city, then select favorites again, it will say on the bottom of the screen to select local to make that city your local city, select local. It then swaps the new local city for the favorite. The total number of cities in the list stays the same.
Are you on P167? Try doing the same thing with just the 2nd city at the top of the list. If it simply swaps to the top your doing something different than I. Provided you are on P167, then we are both running the same software release. I even added 6 cities the other night and removed them all to test this out. I only see the swap effect when I stay in the favorities screen, arrow to a city not my local and try to make it my local or I move the arrow to a different city than was displayed as current city after tab back to favorites. Also, I do this from IWeather not Dish Home.
Yes, I'm on 167. It doesn't matter which city I look at. When I come back to Favorites and make it my local city, the new one and the old one just trade places. Also, what do you mean by "I do this from IWeather not Dish Home?" I don't know any way to get to instant weather other than through Dish Home.

Instant Weather is also on channel 9500 ... but I don't think that it would make a difference if you got to it through channel 9500 rather than through Dish Home.
I don't know what to say, same software, same PVR. I did it again tonight following my own instructions, worked again. Can anyone else try this on their 501 or 508?
OK. I've found that if I go to Instant Weather through channel 9500 the replace-to-delete method works. If I get there through Dish Home it doesn't.

However, if I go in through Dish Home, use the City Finder to select a new city, go to Favorites and make the new city my local city, the new city replaces the local city, which is deleted. If I try to replace the local city with one from the favorites list, they just trade places.

A Delete button would be a lot simpler!
Yeah! :D Clever buggy feature isn't it. I don't use Dish Home to pull up weather for that reason.
