Dish size does not necessarily translate to stronger signal, since dish engineers their dishes to deliver a constant level of signal, larger dishes usually have larger focal points for more lnbs.
Difference between Dish 500 signal strengths versus Dish 500+?
Has anyone that made the switch to the 500+ noted their before and after signal strengths on 110 and 119? I had an oval dish before (1000.2) and was not impressed with the compromise.

Well, my original plan was to go with three Winegard DS-4061 24" dishes with DP duals aimed at 110, 119 and 61.5 into a DPP44. But now it looks like I need 118.7 and I can't find a single dish solution for that. I am trying to avoid pixellation and rain fade. If the 500+ is not stronger than the 500 on 110 and 119, I will pass on the 500+.
I'd still like to know if anyone has noted the difference.

Why don't you get yourself a nice 1 meter offset, rip the cover off a 500+ lnb so it will fit in the collar and you will get both 119 and 118.7 on one dish and it will blow thru the rain and still pick up the FSS at 118. Thats a good idea. The 500+ LNB mount looks rectangular, so the adaptation should be fairly easy. My concern would be if the focal length was correct.
