Ok, the season starts in about three weeks and no word on pricing.. MLS needs to get it's act together regarding this information rather then springing it on interested parties one week before the season gets under way..

Other then that I'm really looking forward to the 2012 season and what it has to offer.. Go Union!

Bought MLS DK the last two seasons, mainly because there were NO blackouts and I was able to watch all the Union matches (I live in Philly) Last year, a handful of teams are now blacked out on DK, regardless of your zip code.

Pretty lame and pointless for a league trying to gain steam in this country.
Why are Chivas USA so special that their feeds are blacked out on the east coast???

Makes no sense to me...:nono2:
I don't remember that being the case.. I watched many Chivas games last season in Philadelphia... A few Union matches were blacked out though.
Last year you couldn't even subscribe to it until after the free preview week was over from the 1st games of the season. I know the price of MLS Live is $59 though.

Go Galaxy! :D
I was just looking at Directv's site the other day trying to find pricing! Funny, guess I'm not the only one.

On the Wiki page for Direct Kick it states "Note also the games being televised on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2, TeleFutura/Galavisión, and NBC/NBC Sports Network (formally Versus) telecasts are not available in the package due to the rights of those games being purchased by the previous television stations prior to the beginning of the season."

That worries me because I believe that NBC Sports has the package rights from Fox Soccer. I don't think that I get NBC Sports with the Directv package that I have. I was seriously thinking about signing up for Direct Kick this season, but maybe I should subscribe to NBC Sports instead. I guess I need a TV schedule of all the MLS games this year to make an informed decision. :)
MLS Live has announced a new blackout policy for 2012 and I'm sure MLS Direct Kick will follow suit:

Looks like the usual crappola to me. Managing the sport as entertainment media instead of sport.

We'll get to game time with no previous identification as to which matches are available and which are blacked out. Some set to record will get blank screens. Some will get a match. No way to tell in advance - and if there are more matches than tuners it will be a crap shoot.

A great reason for me NOT to subscribe. Again.

MLS Digital General Manager Chris Schlosser on The Best Soccer Show(his segment starts around 37th minute), some interesting discussion on MLS live, NBC's online streaming plans, Kick TV and MLS Digital's plans for the 2012 season.

Snagged this post from the Big Soccer MLS forum. Check it out... The NBC broadcasts look to be archived forty eight hours after the game. Seems like a good deal for sixty dollars. The NBC games will also be streamed on something called NBC live whatever that is.
I would say march 1 they will probably start taking orders for directv.

Normally directv takes orders for its sports packages atleast by the 1st of the month, from the month prior to the start of the season.

ex - NHL season begins in OCT, so every SEPT 1 directv starts taking orders.

NBA is usually OCT 1

MLB is usually FEB 1

NFL is actually its very early this year. They are taking orders for there NFL ultimate 2012 now.

Hoping the charge will show up in March along with my MLB billing.. Not sure it will be there until April though...

Yes sir, bout time! Looking forward to checking out some Montreal goodness this season as well... Wonder what the Canadian HD situation will be this year? 2011 had a surprising number of Canadian HD matches so can't really complain about the lack like we do in the NHL thread..
Ok, first day of the package and we get a TSN game(Caps.Vs.Impact) in glorious HD.. Beautiful stuff..
Philly U on D* tonight.. CSN Chicago feed.. I'm not complaining..
