Why don't you just call or email them and ask what the charge is all about?
I am getting Direct TV installed on Saturday.tcusta00 said:So you've already had your install and see this charge online? The $23/month is usually via rebate process so it doesn't show up until you mail it in or process it online and that takes a month or two to show on your bill.
Did they actually charge you, or is there a hold on your cc?indyblues said:Hi
I have just signed up for Direct TV I noticed they have charged me $25, I am not quite sure why? I have just been reading some info about there new deals online. When you sign up it says that you get $23 a month credit for 12 months is that automatically taken out or do you have to sent in rebate to them to get this? I am hoping I have not made a mistake switching from Dish. My installation is on Saturday.
I can't check my account online until I have Direct TV installed.cariera said:Did they actually charge you, or is there a hold on your cc?![]()
If you are talking about a charge to your credit card: did D* tell you there was no charge for the equipment? If so, they do place a temporary $25 hold on your credit card to verify the card is valid. It is not a charge, just a temporary authorization that will fall off in a couple days.indyblues said:Hi

What are temporary authorizations and what types of merchants generally use them?
A temporary authorization occurs when a merchant tests to confirm that your credit card account is valid and/or has sufficient Available Credit. Gas stations, restaurants, hotels, car rental agencies, and airlines commonly use temporary authorizations because the card information is often provided before the final transaction amount is known. Please note that this list is not all-inclusive; temporary authorizations are a common merchant practice. Examples include $1.00 for gasoline "Pay at the Pump" purchases and hotel reservation amounts.
My wife said there was a $25 charge on our bank account, I had a private message on here saying that they hold it and should credit the account back. When I checked out there was a zero charge.cariera said:Did they actually charge you, or is there a hold on your cc?![]()
